UK job moves: Twitter, Manchester City, RKCR/Y&R, Pernod Ricard

In response to feedback from our first moves digest last Friday, we've decided to introduce three market-specific editions.

These posts will cover the most senior, surprising and influential job moves in the UK, US and APAC markets, posted every Friday morning in their respective time zones.

Twitter has hired former BBC Sport social media editor Lewis Wiltshire, the first hire in an expansion of the company's partner program in the UK.

HarperCollins has hired Barnaby Dawe as CMO, previously he was marketing communications director at News International.

Manchester City has appointed TV and online exec Russell Stopford as head of digital. He replaces former Trinity Mirror and Tiscali director Richard Ayers, who is leaving as planned after a year in the position.

Halfords has brought in Asda's operations director for new business and shopping, Clive West, to fill the newly-created role of group digital director role.

The Department for Education is disbanding its 12-strong marketing team as part of a wider restructure to strengthen its social-media and PR activity.

Guardian News & Media has promoted Steve Wing, head of digital marketing, to the new role of business director for mobile.

RKCR/Y&R has promoted Alice Huntley to the role of CSO and hired David Murray as a joint head of planning.

Tremor Video has appointed Tim Weber as its new VP of sales & business development for central and eastern Europe. Weber was previously country manager for Germany at Microsoft Advertising.

Facebook has recruited Channel 4's commercial controller Ed Couchman as UK sales manager.

Pernod Ricard UK has promoted Patrick Venning to marketing director for spirits.
