If you've been spending way too little time with your tablet because it's usually in the hands of your kids, it may be time to think about getting them one of their own. Plus, like it or not, a portable tablet is a great way to keep kids entertained on a plane or a long car trip if you're travelling this holiday season.
These tablets come pre-loaded with educational content, (you can purchase more, of course) built-in accelerometers for gaming, and most of them have cameras. They're built with kids in mind, so you don't need to worry about watching your iPad screen shatter if it's dropped. These are built with hard plastic that enables a firm grip, as well as take a fair amount of drops and dings.
They features touch screens, cameras and video recorders, music players, and some have e-books. A few of them have built-in Wi-Fi which means you don't need to connect the tablet to the computer to buy and download new content for the kids.

The Kurio 7 from Techno Source is a 7" multi-touchscreen tablet that looks much more tablet-like than the others. It's running on the Android operating system so its a tablet you can use when the kids are willing to give it up. It also has built-in Wi-Fi.

This tablet is much smaller, 5" and has a great, crisp-looking touch screen. It's got a much more grown-up look and feel than the others. Vinci has its own library of educational apps, with developmentally-designed digital curriculum specifically created for children.

Tabeo is a kids tablet developed and designed by Toys"R"Us. It's a 7-inch, multi-touch tablet comes with 50 free, pre-installed apps and parental controls. Of course there are Tabeo-branded accessories to complement the device – from noise-cancelling headphones and colorful earbuds, to stylish folio cases.
