Working as a summer camp counselor will leave you with horror stories of rowdy kids — plus residual sunscreen and acrylic paint that's forever doomed to run through your bloodstream.

Take comfort in the fact that your experience might not be worst thing ever. Others aren't so lucky.

   1. When the environment is depressing.

   Come on -- even for Daria Morgendorffer, "It's Okay to Cry" does not sound like a fun time. Adding summer weather only makes it more unbearable.

   2. When you're stuck with obnoxious co-workers for the rest of the season.

   Some of whom might rival Andy in Wet Hot American Summer. If you're wondering, "Do I really have to work with these people?" the answer is yes. And it will definitely get on your nerves.

3. 3. When touristy customers are rude.

   Brad gets fired in Fast Times at Ridgemont High because of a jerk customer. (At his next job, they want him to wear a pirate costume. Not much better.)

   4. When angsty teens under your supervision don't take you seriously.

   When The Suite Life of Zack and Cody's Maddie Fitzpatrick spends her summer working at Camp Heaven on Earth, her experience is anything but. Try the campers from hell.

5. 5. When you have no other option but this job.

   Teachers aren't immune to the call of summer. In the '80s flick Summer School, Mark Harmon plays a slacker gym teacher. He's forced to take on the job of remedial English teacher. The man (aka the principal) is really bringing him down.

6. 6. When your co-workers wrongfully accuse you of stealing.

   While the dance scenes in Dirty Dancing are pretty awesome, fussy resort customers and getting accused for stealing sure isn't. Plus you probably don't have Jennifer Grey to bail you out.

   7. Basically any job that involves an amusement park.

   Working the games at an amusement park a la Adventureland seems like a good idea until someone throws balls at you. Then, it's a lot less fun.

8. 8. When your summer crush also happens to be your boss's daughter.

   Poor Zack, pining after the boss's daughter (who also has a boyfriend). Saved By the Bell may have aired in the '90s, but that's still totally awkward today.

   9. When your friends are having amazing adventures around the world, and you have to read about them on Facebook.

   Tibby from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants works at a convenience store when all of her friends are off adventuring in various locales around the world. Her boredom while on the job is palpable.
