You've been pranked, Internet. Amateur twerker "Caitlin Heller," whose viral video of her fiery upside-down twerking fail accrued nearly 9 million views since it was uploaded on Sept. 3, is not real neither is her accident.
"Worst Twerk Fail EVER" star is a stunt woman whose real name is Daphne Avalon, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel revealed Monday night, detailing the intriguing web experiment.
"We made it up. ... We shot that video two months ago," he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live (watch above). "We didn't send it to any TV stations, I didn't tweet it, we didn't put it on any news websites. We just put it on YouTube and let the magic happen, and the magic happened."
Released after Miley Cyrus' twerking-infused MTV Video Music Awards performance, the original video shows the girl twerking on a door until someone opens it, sending her flailing onto a coffee table covered with candles. Her yoga pants catch on fire and then the video abruptly ends.
Kimmel showed what happened after the footage cut off: He entered the room with a fire extinguisher and saved the day, as part of the viral stunt, of course. Chalk one up for the naysayers who dubbed the clip as fake from the get-go.
