Cicadas! Swarmageddon 2013 Set to Gross Out East Coast

Have you heard the buzz flying around Swarmageddon 2013? Billions of cicadas will blanket the east coast of the United States this year, spurring an epidemic of the heebie-jeebies.

The large, humming insects emerge from the ground every 17 years (or 13, depending on the species) and, after nearly two decades in the dirt, these bugs are ready to party. And by party, we mean shed their exoskeletons and clumsily fly into your face.

This is your summer, east coast — start your preparations now.

"Need a new look for my big above ground debut." -This Cicada
