Wikipedia Founder to Speak at Social Good Summit

Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikimedia Foundation and creator of Wikipedia.org, will speak at the 2012 Social Good Summit to discuss crowdsourcing's potential to improve global health.

Wales launched the online encyclopedia Wikipedia in 2001. It is now one of the top-five most visited websites. He also started Wikia.com in 2004. Wales' innovative ideas have earned him many accolades; he was named one of the "Young Global Leaders" at the 2007 World Economic Forum and one of the "TIME 100? most influential people in 2006, under the "Scientists and Thinkers" category.

Wales will be joined onstage by Gabriel Jaramillo, general manager of the Global Fund, who will discuss a new digitally focused global health campaign being launched by the company. Jaramillo is the first general manager of the Global Fund and has dedicated his mission to ensuring better financial management, risk management and grant management as the Global Fund expands its efforts to address the pandemics of malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS.

This discussion will be one of the many great sessions at this year's summit, so be sure to purchase your tickets today!
