Brands Celebrate Royal Baby on Twitter

When the newest member of the British monarchy was announced to the world, marketers were ready. Within minutes of the birth announcement, brands across the globe — from Delta to Starbucks to Pampers — were ready with prepared tweets, photos and branded Instagram celebrations.

Hey, the rest of the world is obsessed with the #RoyalBaby, so brands might as well get in on the fun too, right?

Taking cues from Oreo's successful Super Bowl stunt, brands tried to outdo one another by crafting humorous (and sometimes cringe-worthy) images celebrating the announcement.

As expected, Oreo was ready to go with its own graphic (below). It's cute, but we think that Hostess' and Nintendo's images were more humorous. Meanwhile, brands such as Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Magnum Ice Cream used their products in playful ways.

On Twitter, most brands used the hashtag #RoyalBaby and posted their images directly to the service. We saw a few instances of brands using Instagram — but since those images won't show-up inline in the official Twitter clients or on Twitter.com (without an extension anyway), using Twitter's own photo system is probably a better bet.

What brand do you think had the best royal baby reaction? Let us know in the comments.
