Flight of fancy, or real car? Its name will give you a clue: "Mithos" -- closer to mythology than reality. As far-fetched as it seems, designer Tiago Miguel Inácio is serious, calling it "essentially a celebration of the future, each day closer to reality."
This zero-emissions supercar has a terrain-scanning system (what, no robot driver?), instant torque response with its 1.5 MW electromagnetic motor, and then we get into the fantasy world with quantum boost technology that lets the car magnetically levitate over some sort of future roads, and it's even teleportation-ready. No word on whether its phasers are set to stun or kill.
Dream on, Tiago, but we certainly got a kick out of your forward-looking design.

Plug this little VooMote Zapper into your iPhone or iPod Touch (native iPad app coming in 2012), and you have a universal remote that's easier than most to set up. I plugged one into my iPhone 4S, downloaded the VooMote software and set up our home theater in about 15 minutes.
Its infrared signal wasn't quite strong enough for my taste -- you must point the unit near the components for it to work -- but its remote quickly became familiar with all our devices thanks to its setup wizard, making the $70 VooMote Zapper one of the user-friendliest universal remotes I've tested.
The iPhone is not inherently a good remote control device, though, because it won't allow you to control your components by feel, without having to look down at them while you watch. However, this is a cool idea that might do in a pinch.

Who says cameras have to be shaped like their old-fashioned forebears? It makes more sense to have a camera shaped like the most important part of the device -- the lens.
That's where this can-shaped D-CAN camera concept by Jean-Michel Bonnemoy excels, with its cylindrical shape giving designers plenty of volume to fit spectacular optics inside, while leaving enough room for a huge imager and the other associated electronics on its tail end.
It's a design concept so far, but I think Mr.Bonnemoy is on the right track.

Plugging in USB cables can be frustrating if you can't see what you're doing, and this Red Dot Design award winner by designer Lim Jae Min solves that problem once and for all. You can immediately feel which direction the plug should be oriented, and it's obvious it can only be plugged in one way.
Quick, somebody, change the entire USB standard to fit this creative design, which should have been the way USB connectors were designed in the first place.

We're pretty lucky here in the civilized world, with plentiful drinking water at our fingertips. But if you're out on an expedition or in less-developed countries, the CamelBak All Clear water bottle has an ultraviolet light inside its cap that can purify water in 60 seconds.
Charge up its battery, and it's good to purify 80 bottles of water. It's a steeply priced water bottle at $99, but if you're thirsty enough, that might seem like a good deal.

This is no flying car, but it might be the next best thing. The AgustaWestland AW609 has wings that tilt back so you can land it like a helicopter. When you're ready to travel cross country, you can take off vertically and then tilt the wings forward where its props will get you and six of your closest friends speeding along at 300mph for 800 miles.
Sure, you could probably land this it in your backyard, but you'll have to spend about $15 million-$25 million to buy one by the time the FAA certifies it, which the company hopes will be by 2016.

Adventurers certainly want to keep their iPhones protected, and now they can keep them powered up at the same time with the Snow Lizard Aqua Tek S case. Waterproof to a depth of 20 feet, the case's internal battery pack can be charged up with its built-in solar charger.
It's a Kickstarter project, which invites you to vote with your pledge of support, and if enough people like the idea, it'll be built. If it proves popular, it'll be yours if you're brave enough to pony up $100.

There's a whole new dimension of Angry Birds on the way, and the company's telling us, "It's one small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind." Make of that what you will, but the laws of physics are quite different in Angry Birds Space, and the angry birds will obey those laws, as is their wont.
Rovio, the game's creator, says there will be completely new birds as well as those you've grown to know and love, and some will have superpowers. So get your slingshots ready, because Rovio says this will be the biggest launch for the Angry Birds franchise since it debuted 2009.

You've seen all-in-one computers before, but never like this. The HP Z1 workstation has a 27-inch 2560x1440 screen that can display more than a billion colors, perfect for serious professional graphics. Unlike most all-in-ones, this one's easy to open and lets you upgrade and work on its internals with the greatest of ease.
Pricing starts at $1,899, but if you're a major graphics jockey, you'll probably want yours tricked out with a quad-core Intel Xeon processor and the serious Nvidia Quadro graphics you've become accustomed to. It's expected to ship in April.

Make it kneel down and out of the way.
The workstation opens for easy servicing and upgrades.
It's been another big week for Top 10 Tech, with jaw-dropping devices that will make you feel like you've awakened in a future world.
As we separated the junk from the gems this week, we were astonished to find a car that's more spectacular than any we've ever seen, and even though it's a design concept so far, it's probably pointing to a future of electromagnetism, levitation and maybe even teleportation.
Beyond the ridiculous, we found the sublime, with a convenient new remote control that you plug into your iPhone, an interesting shape for a camera design, a great idea for USB connectors, and spectacular ways to make you fly like a bird or even sling angry birds in space.
