Mashable is thrilled to announce that New York Times columnist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Nick Kristof will join the 2012 Social Good Summit to discuss how gaming can be used for social good.
Kristof is a passionate advocate of social issues and new technologies, and has recently launched a social game in partnership with Games for Change that can be played on Facebook to raise awareness and aid for global crises.
Similar to FarmVille, Half The Sky Movement will enable players to make micro-donations to humanitarian efforts worldwide as well as contribute to causes in other ways.
At this year's Social Good Summit, Kristof will be on stage with Asi Burak, co-president of Games for Change, to discuss how social impact games can serve as critical tools in humanitarian and educational efforts.
Mr. Kristof will join other world leaders at the Social Good Summit taking place September 22-24 in New York City. Oscar winning actor Forest Whitaker and Google Earth engineering manager Rebecca Moore will also present on stage.
