Life Hacks Parody Offers Not-So-Useful Tips For Everyday Dilemmas

While we're suckers for a great life hack, sometimes videos claiming to have so-called "hacks" for everyday problems fall short of actually being useful.

YouTube channel Kipkay, known for quick hack and how-to videos, has created a parody that offers not-so-useful tips for your day-to-day challenges.

Need protection from the sun? A cardboard drink-holder makes a nice visor. Or perhaps you forgot your gun holster at home — why not just D.I.Y. one using a sandal?

   1. Cup-Holder

   Maybe your car doesn't have a cup holder. Maybe you have cups that need holding. Well, just grab a Styrofoam takeout container, cut two holes, and make a cup holder.

   Stick your super-sophisticated cup holder in your car, and it's seriously just like having a driving companion.

   2. TigerLight

   Attach pepper spray to a flashlight and voila! You've got yourself a TigerLight.

   Now go forth and protect yourself, while saving a few bucks in the process.

   Pro tip: You can use duct tape to make pretty much any self-protection hybrid. Do the same thing with a knife and a fork, and it's like you're only using one utensil. Magic.

   3. Snuggie/Popcorn Holder

   Why buy a Snuggie if you already have a sweatshirt?

   Bonus: It doubles as a snack receptacle. BRB, just going to become a lazy sloth for the rest of my life.

   You're not in college anymore, so you might as well repurpose all those wine bottles -- because that's what adults do, right?

   Stuff Christmas lights into them, and you can pretend that you're in an Anthropologie catalog.

   Place water bottle in sock. Use rubber bands to attach sock to water bottle.

   Result: Goodbye, messy condensation. As a side note, your water bottle will never be cold again.

   Saran wrap will totally protect your device from water ... or at least your own fingertips.

    For a totally non-biodegradable shelf, stack leftover Styrofoam boxes. Arrange them however you like to make a whole storage system.
