Proof That Every Tech Ad Is Exactly the Same

Have you ever noticed that a lot of tech commercials look exactly the same?

They blur together into a stream of smiling faces and bright lighting. And it's hard to remember what product they're even hawking.

College Humor pokes fun at commonplace tech commercial clichés, compiling them all into one parody video. Cue snappy editing, dramatic product shots, repetitive lines and young professionals in creative fields. (And inexplicably, an abundance of bakers.)

1. 1. Introducing Siri - iPhone 4S

   There are several well-known Siri parodies out there, but nothing quite compares to this melodramatic, film trailer-esque video. The protagonist argues with his friends out of love for the indomitable Siri, the main factor that makes the iPhone 4S and it's predecessor "not the same." The Droid makes a surprise cameo.

2. 2. iOS 4.0 on 3G iPhone

   This parody takes the standard form of an instructional Apple ad, but adds a twist. Making fun of the glitches that often come with newly released iPhones, this video shows that new operating systems aren't always as user-friendly as they appear on TV.

3. 3. LEAKED: New iPhone Commercial

   Shares: 40,564

   The phrase "There's an app for that" has been assimilated into English jargon. This parody highlights the dangers of being connected to everyone at every moment, as well as the many types of apps that, well, probably shouldn't exist (e.g., Stalk-Her, Calend-Her, etc.).

4. 4. "Mac or PC" Rap Music Video - Mac vs PC

   Many of you have seen the Mac vs. PC commercials with Justin Long ("I'm a Mac") and John Hodgman ("and I'm a PC"). Those actors are funny, but can they rap? This spoof takes care of any musicality the original ads may lack.

   This video was made by a South Park fan who wanted to answer the whole Mac vs. PC question simply: neither.

6. 6. Nail Clipper Air

   Apple gets really excited when new products come out, and for good reason. But sometimes the people in the ads can get a little too emphatic. This parody matches multiple frames of the 2010 MacBook Air promo, but with a new product that will change the way we see technology — the nail clipper.

   For everyone who was confused when the first iPad came out, this parody product release explains the simple idea behind it: It's just an iPod Touch, but bigger.

   According to this spoof, if you don't have an iPhone, you're either poor or a loser. This ad isn't trying to sell you the phone; it just wants to mock you for not having one. "In your face."

9. 9. Douche Bag Siri: The Fixed Apple iPhone Rock God Commercial

   Siri's supposed to help you with whatever you want, right? Well, what if she were brutally honest? Or, frankly, a douche bag? This parody takes Apple's "Rock God" iPhone 4S commercial and "fixes" it.

10. 10. Banned iPad 2 Promo

    This promo spoof explains how every new iPad seems to be a bigger version of an older product — the first iPad was like an iPod Touch with a camera, the iPad 2 was like an iPhone 4 without the retina display, etc. Nonetheless, the iPad is supposedly great for "video sex."
