Bruised bananas are the worst. They should really be exiled from the fruit world, unless of course you can turn a rotting fruit into an absolute masterpiece like this artist.
When Honey, a graphic artist and illustrator, realized she had a surplus of potassium-packed fruit laying around the kitchen she figured they woud make the perfect canvas for her work. She began the process by using pens, she told Mashable, but soon realized the pen punctured the banana skin too easily, which is when she switched to safety pins.
"I make a lot of small punctures in the banana's skin, which exposes the interior to air, causing it to turn brown," Honey said. "This is somewhat similar to what my tattoo artist friend did when he sort of showed me how to tattoo."
Each tasty bite of banana art can take up to two hours. But when she's done crafting her fruity masterpieces, she doesn't bother framing the works she just eats them.
