Videographer Tops Reporters in CES Challenge Day One

Who can log the most activity at CES 2013? We're challenging Mashable reporters to track their movements around the world's largest technology trade show. Equipped with Nike+ FuelBands, they began monitoring their respective distances covered while reporting at Sunday's CES Unveiled.

After day one of Mashable's CES challenge, the standings are as follows:

The starting champion is video editor Evan Engel, who rounded up 5.59 miles. He ran around recording video of the Lenovo table PC, a zombie-killing iPad-controlled device, a tool that helps you keep your plants alive and an update to the AR Parrot Drone.

Reporter Samantha Murphy, who put in an impressive 4.67 miles, introduced us to serious wireless charging, bluetooth speakers that piggyback on a smartphone and a brand new speaker system from Monster.

Although Tech editor Pete Pachal had the smallest distance to his name (less than 2 miles total), he still managed to report on some amazing new technology. Noteworthy products include a new Canon powershot that does your thinking for you and a 55-inch OLED LG TV that could be yours for "only" $12,000.

Although Evan was the champion, Lifestyle editor Andrea Smith, photo editor Nina Frazier and editor-in-chief Lance Ulanoff also each trekked over 4 miles.

Which Mashable reporter will log the most Monday activity? Check back for an updated report tomorrow, and follow along throughout the week to see who will become the fitness champion of CES.
