The Best of Toy Fair in 60 Seconds [VIDEO]

NEW YORK — We wish we could tell you we made it to all the booths at the 2013 International Toy Fair, but with 266,229 square feet of show floor to cover, well, we didn't get everywhere. But we did get a great overview of some of the awesome tech toys you'll be seeing in the coming year.

The big trend this year; augmented 3D reality and iPad-infused play. Barbie has a dress with LED lights and a high tech Digital Makeover Mirror that lets girls virtually "try on" eye shadow, lipstick and glitter.

Check out the video above for a 60-second trip through the aisles of Toy Fair. It will save you plenty of walking and let you browse in comfort. Let us know which ones might wind up on your wish list.

1. Tetris Lamp

   This cool light by Paladone takes Tetris' classic brick shape and turns them into illuminated, stackable pieces for a fully customizable lamp.

2. Barbie Digital Dress Doll

   Barbie's Digital Dress doll combines fashion and tech. Girls can create and select their own digital designs, which light up on Barbie's dress.

3. Voice-Recognition Dinosaur

   Named Jagger, this dinosaur from VTech Toys responds to voice commands. If you tell it to roar, it will. If you tell it to move forward, it will do that too. And you can even transform it into a construction truck. How's that for dino versatility?

4. USB Squirming Tentacle

   A tentacle that wiggles and squirms when you plug it into your USB port on your computer? Consider us entangled. However, this USB from ThinkGeek doesn't store any data.

5. Augmented Reality Solar Map

   This map from Popar Toys is 3D interactive. By launching an accompanying app, users can hold a tablet up to its surface to reveal more information about the planets. Popar Toys also has a line of 3D interactive books with augmented reality.

6. Crayola Photo Mash-Ups

   Photoshop for kids? Crayola has introduced a new digital photo application and accessories, allowing young users to smash, morph and mash photos together to create collages. Available for iOS and some Windows 8 tablets, the set will cost $19.99 when it debuts in August.

7. Attacknids

   Robots were a plenty at the 2013 Toy Fair in New York City, including one called the Attacknids from U.K.-based company Wow! Stuff. The remote controlled Attacknid robot moves with realistic spider-like motions and features a rotating head. It fires discs up to 30 feet and can be synced and controlled with other Attacknids when in game mode.

8. Magic iPad App

   A new app from Fantasma Toys allows users to play card and magic tricks with the help of the iPad. The app is free when accessories and other kits are purchased.

9. WowPacks

   Billed as the first-ever animated back pack for kids, the Snot the Zombie bag is interactive. It's eyes move when people pass by, it makes noises and comes with an attached remote control.

10. Romo Robot

    This smartphone robot (for iOS) can be controlled, trained and has a personality of its own. He learns about you and emotions by mimicking what he sees.

11. Boo Plush Army

    While this may not be a tech toy, Boo is a pomeranian made famous on the Internet. The dog has a whole line of plush toys from Gund on display the Toy Fair.

12. Anakin to Darth Vader Toy

    Hasbro is releasing a special Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader action figure that transforms between the two characters. The concept aims to conceptualize the dramatic change to the Dark Side. The figure says quotes from the movie, features a lightsaber that changes colors and comes with a mask which makes respirator noises when you put it on.

13. Hot Wheels

    Who can resist some good old fashioned Hot Wheels racing? Add in an iPad and augmented reality, users can now see cars race by on screen.

14. Laugh & Learn Apptivity Creation Center

    Parents now give iPads to kids before they're old enough to crawl. The Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Apptivity Creation Center makes sure the mobile device is tucked safely away, while the baby can explore the on-screen entertainment and the built-in toys of the center.

15. Nerf Guns for Girls

    Hasbro is taking a dramatic departure from its traditional Nerf guns with the new line, Rebelle. These guns are targeted specifically for girls who have been playing with Nerf guns just as long as their brothers have.

16. Techno Source Glow in the Dark Paint

    Techno Source knows kids like to draw everywhere, so this new paintbrush lets you get creative via special paper intended for walls. Not only does it glow in the dark, it magically disappears in three seconds.

17. Tek Recon Havok

    Tek Recon blasters are similar to playing a first person shooter video game in real life -- only with rubber ammo that can't hurt. A mount holds your smartphone in place so you can play games like "Capture the Flag" with friends and know where they are based on your phone's GPS.

    Twilight Turtle Tunes from Cloud B is an accompaniment for a baby's bedtime. It projects a starlight scene onto the ceiling through the turtle's shell. By using Bluetooth technology and a free app, parents can make a playlist of sounds, songs or their own voice to soothe babies to sleep.
