'Plants vs. Zombies 2' Launches For iOS

The zombies are coming!

Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time, the next generation of the popular game by PopCap, is officially available on Apple's App Store.

The time reference in the game's title refers to the long wait for its release, as well as the subject of the game: time travel.

In Plants vs. Zombies 2, you're tasked with going back in time to search for Crazy Dave's taco. He's the guy from the first version who kept trying to sell you things out of the trunk of his car.

The game is currently divided up into three different stages: ancient Egypt, a pirate ship and the wild West, each with their own unique levels.

Much like the original version, you use plants to keep the zombies at bay. Version 2 brings a number of additional plants into the mix, as well as new ways to interact with the zombies on the screen.

   Bloomerang can throw boomerangs that then return to her, letting you hit zombies twice.

   Bonkchoy

   Bonkchoy is great at throwing punches.

   Spicy and deadly.

   Coconut Cannon

   The coconut cannon shoot, you guessed it, coconuts at the zombies.

   Lightning Reed

   Feel the burn.

7. 

   Snapdragon

   Snapdragon can spray fire across three rows at once.
