If you've ever wondered what it's like to stand onstage and rock out in front of a glut of rambunctious fans now you can, kind of. Because the Bay Area-based band Wallpaper (stylized Wallpaper.), is making some serious moves on the Google Glass front.
According to lead singer Ricky Reed, the band has deep ties with the tech community in Northern California, and about a week into the Vans Warped Tour (which the group is still on) he acquired Google Glass in Mountain View, Calif.
After a few days of practicing with the high-tech specs, Reed put his game face on and captured a live performance of the band's song "Last Call" via Glass onstage in Phoenix, Ariz. Though it's not the first we've seen of tech-oriented musicians taking to Glass, it's a wild first in touring and music-video history: As the song goes on, Reed crawls deeper into the crowd and gives you a high-octane, first-person visual of the event. The song is from the band's upcoming album Ricky Reed is Real, which is slated to drop July 23 on Epic Records.
What do you think of the visuals? How does it compare to footage you might have seen via GoPro or similar devices? Sound off in the comments below and share some of your favorite Google Glass finds with us, too.
